Trowbridge Area Board on 14 March welcomed the initiative to establish Transforming Trowbridge after hearing from its Director, Jeff Ligo.
A few voices of concern were raised and one Councillor was sceptical that the Group would achieve anything worthwhile.
Cllr John Thomson, Deputy Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Member for Communities, Campuses, Area Boards and Broadband announced at the Area Board that the Cabinet had given priority to moving forward with the establishment of the health element of the Campus development.
Corporate Director, Maggie Rae had been asked to drive the project forward. Cllr Thompson said this might mean a phased approach would be necessary for the overall development of the Campus but it was essential that the opportunity to achieve the health and wellbeing centre was not lost and the NHS needed to proceed quickly.
