Clarks Nills Planning Application 17/00200/FUL

Below is a representation submitted today in relation to the above planning application.

Transforming Trowbridge fully endorses the Town Council’s representations on this planning application for the Clarks Mills site.  Whilst there is no objection to the change of use to residential within the town centre area there is a tremendous opportunity to negotiate with the Clarks Mills’ applicant to secure the provision of a pedestrian and cycle link along the river Biss,  This is one of the objectives of the strategic plans for Trowbridge

We understand the emerging masterplan for the Innox Mills site is seeking to maximise opportunities for pedestrian and cycle links to the town centre, and will also incorporate a riverside walk in accordance with River Biss SPD.

A condition in the permission protecting this route would ensure a wider strategic view is taken.

CAMPUS SITE

TROWBRIDGE'S campus project has been handed a huge boost after it was announced work is set to begin on a new healthcare centre in autumn this year.

The NHS Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) delivered a presentation to Trowbridge Area Board on Thursday which stated it has secured £3.8 million of funding to spend on a new primary care unit facility on land adjacent to St Stephen's Place, off County Way.

It is time-limited funding which must be spent before 2019, so progress is expected to be made quickly on the site, which will eventually act as a replacement for the struggling Trowbridge Community Hospital.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Friday 16 December        7:30pm          £11 (Conc: £9)

So Charles Dickens described what has become one of the best loved of all Christmas stories. During the last twelve years of his life Charles Dickens toured Britain and the USA reading his writings professionally to his adoring public. The most popular of all these readings was ‘A Christmas Carol’. In this almost totally candlelit performance Pip Utton recreates those readings using the script adaptation of the story made and used by Charles Dickens himself.

Jack Frost

Saturday 17 December      11am & 3pm (relaxed performance)     £10 (Conc: £8)

Moon On A Stick transform the stage once more using their unique combination of light play, song and visual theatre to reimagine this well-known Nordic legend. A playful production perfect for children 3+

We are pleased to be able to offer a relaxed performance at 3pm, ideal for families with children who are nervous of the theatre, find being still and quiet for long periods of time difficult or have a Special Educational Needs or Autism.
